About us

Elope to Savannah owner, Elizabeth Osterberger, graduated from the Savannah College of Art and Design in 2001 with a BFA in Photography. She has been a photographer full time since 2001 and that's how she fell into this business by meeting and becoming fast friends with its former owner who moved away in 2013. Since then, she's been keeping the dream alive and growing and expanding its horizons.

She was born and raised in Charlotte, NC, but moved to Savannah in 1997 to attend college and was already fully in love with the city before she came here. Elizabeth loves Savannah more than it might be possible to express and has been here for half her life now and enjoys getting to know the mysterious, charming, wondrous quirks that it has to offer. She loves meeting people who were born and raised here and becoming more woven deeply into the great history and romance the city has to offer.

In 2010, Elizabeth met the former owner, and he introduced her to the magic of photographing elopements. The more intimate connection you have with just the couple or a very very small amount of guests makes the photo session and the wedding all the more special.

She has worked in almost all areas of the wedding business, helping a wedding planner on wedding days, working in a bridal shop, assisting a florist, and she is also able to officiate weddings legally, being ordained by two different organizations. Elizabeth also will still do regular photography jobs and sometimes does day-of-coordination for large weddings.

When she's not doing wedding things, she loves spending time with her husband (they were married in Chatham Square and had their reception at the Gingerbread House ... both awesome locations!) and friends playing games and relaxing in the park or on the beach. She enjoys yardwork, occasionally exercising, and her two adorable cats. She also volunteers for Susan G. Komen as a photographer.

Elizabeth survived open heart surgery in 2013 and despite that major setback, has become healthy and back in the game.
